One of the strengths of Finnish vegetables and fruit is their lower pesticide residues in comparison with corresponding products from other countries. Vegetable sustainability should be reviewed not only in terms of energy consumption but also other factors such as water use.

Finland’s natural environment and extensive forests facilitate the use of natural products. Its high quality raw materials, such as berries and mushrooms, are a major strength and competitive advantage. The size of Finland’s organic collection area is unique in the world.
