The work package Bioeconomy sustainability appraisal deals with the central production chain scenarios and cost effective climate impacts from life cycle perspective. This appraisal serves improvement of climate legislation and regulation and recognition of optimal land use strategies.

The aims are

  • The climate impacts will be estimated for various time periods (eg. 30, 50 or 100 years) using dynamic models based on indicators that regulate the life cycle estimates
  • The evaluation will apply an environment-specific input-output model (ENVIMAT; https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0959652611001612) for estimating impacts between different sectors and on a national scale
  • To identify differences between the different scenarios we will evaluate the possibilities to replace non-renewable products
