Manure Standards participated in the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme Conference in Luebeck on 9-10 April. In the company of the other 110 projects funded by the Programme, we certainly felt like being part of a real change brought about by the overall funding of around 245 million euros.
11 countries, 111 projects, 245 million euros of committed funding thus far, and over 1400 partners. This is how the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme and its projects look like in figures. Impressive, huh?
Impressive was also the number of participants, over 300, who had taken the time to be part of the Programme Conference in Luebeck. The aim of the two days was to talk about results achieved by the 111 project #MadeWithInterreg.
Manure Standards’ achievements and solutions were presented in one of the parallel sessions of the Conference: SuMaNu platform project organised a session on 9th April addressing sustainable manure management from different perspectives. The session attracted around 30 participants and was a fruitful discussion on the topic, taking into account various angles of the nutrient recycling challenge.
Collaboration is the only way
“We will see that collaboration is the only way to make the Baltic Sea cleaner and safer for the benefit of the people in the area”, stated Erik Westermann-Lammers, CEO of Investitionsbank Schleswig- Holstein (the joint managing authority of Interreg BSR) in his speech addressing the 300 people in the audience. We in Manure Standards, having all region’s countries on board, can only agree with the statement.
