Programme Coordinator Mila Sell participated in the Africa Food Security Conference on 12th – 13th October, 2016, in Nairobi, Kenya. She held a session committed to agricultural extension and sustaining practices. The session applied scientific research and new knowledge to agricultural practices through farmer’s education and rural development programs on environmental health, economic profitability, and social and economic equity. Key discussion points were:
- Rethinking agriculture to improve sustainability- participatory research, extension and teaching
- Bioenergy and Food security: linkages, synergies and conflicts in the African context
- Example of successful approach to achieve sustainability in Agricultural rural development
- Enhancing Food Security through Market-oriented Interventions in Pastoralist Communities
