FoodAfrica team will participate in the Nairobi Innovation Week in early March to showcase the key results of the programme. As part of the dissemination work of the results, the programme aims to create new business opportunities for local and international companies.

Since 2012, FoodAfrica has worked hard to increase food security in six African countries. Now it’s time to see what we, together with numerous local farmers and other partners, have achieved. Based on what we have learned in six years, we will also discuss further research needs to make food accessible for all in the future.

Our events during the Nairobi Innovation Week include a scientific seminar at the Great Court of University of Nairobi on Thursday 8 March. Open for everyone, the seminar touches on the key achievements of the FoodAfrica programme with respect to improving food security in sub-Saharan Africa.

Furthermore, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland, we will host a workshop “Improving Food Security through Shared Value and Innovation” on Wednesday 7 March. Open for invited stakeholders, the workshop includes presentations as well as group work on some FoodAfrica case examples.
